Other Wheel Locking Nuts

Identifying your wheel locking nut can sometimes be tricky. Below are some examples of what your wheel locking nut does not look like, along with guidance to help you locate the correct wheel locking nut and find a replacement key.

These images are often mistaken for wheel locking nuts, possibly due to the ‘star’ hole in the centre of the cap. These caps need to be pulled off, and usually, there is a tool included with your spare wheel or jack to remove them.

In the last image, you can see the 6-sided hex nut, which is a standard nut. For this wheel nut, a locking key is not required. Remove all the plastic caps until you find the actual wheel locking nut.
